We are deeply hurt by the tragic loss of life in Boston earlier this week. We join all citizens of that city and the rest of the world in grief, and condemn this awful act in the strongest terms possible. While the details are still being uncovered, we, the Ahmadi Muslim youth, have begun to serve the city of Boston in any way we can -- from giving our blood at donor sites, to writing in local newspapers to express our pain and sympathies. May God grant strength and peace to all the victims families who have had to bear this terrible loss.

Several members of the MKA National Amila were in Houston this weekend for a meeting. In the evening, they decided to scope out a sermon given by Joel Osteen at Lakewood Church -- the largest church in the United States, averaging 43,500 in attendance each week. His staff was intrigued by our visit and offered a chance for us to meet him personally after his sermon. We introduced our community and youth auxiliary to him.
Shining Star of the month is Akeel Akbar from Central Viginia jamat. Akeel bhai is a quiet and shy person but still possess a very warm and charming personality. He just graduated from James Madison University and is now currently working at an international tech company in DC.
Zeshan Ahmad is 10 years old Waqfe Nau child who is in the 4thgrade. He is a self determined child who sets high goals for himself and tries his best to achieve them. He regularly comes to the mosque and actively participates in all the activities. He is the youngest Tifl from Silver Spring Jama'at to have mastered the entire Atfal syllabus at the age of 10. MashAllah. He has won several awards in Waqfe Nau Ijtemas. He leads prayers (Salat) at home.
