MKA USA Response to Boston Attack

We are deeply hurt by the tragic loss of life in Boston earlier this week. We join all citizens of that city and the rest of the world in grief, and condemn this awful act in the strongest terms possible. While the details are still being uncovered, we, the Ahmadi Muslim youth, have begun to serve the city of Boston in any way we can -- from giving our blood at donor sites, to writing in local newspapers to express our pain and sympathies. May God grant strength and peace to all the victims families who have had to bear this terrible loss.

Fact of the Day

Did you know a marble statue of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) built in 1930 exists in the US Supreme Court frieze? He is described there as "One of the great law-givers of history."

The Muslim Times is an international news blog representing an Ahmadiyya Muslim perspective of the world, especially the Muslim countries.  We aspire for separation of Mosque-Church and State, loyalty to our specific countries, while maintaining a belief in Universal Brotherhood of mankind.  To go to the Muslim Times:

We believe Hajj is a symbol of Universal Brotherhood

The teaching of Universal Brotherhood in Islam, among other verses is grounded in the following verse of the Holy Quran:

O mankind, We have created you from a male and a female; and We have made you into tribes and sub-tribes that you may recognize one another. Indeed, the most honourable among you, in the sight of Allah, is he who is the most righteous among you. Surely, Allah is All-knowing, All-Aware. (Al Quran 49:14)

On December 10, 1948 the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights the full text of which appears in the link provided. Following this historic act the Assembly called upon all Member countries to publicize the text of the Declaration and “to cause it to be disseminated, displayed, read and expounded principally in schools and other educational institutions, without distinction based on the political status of countries or territories.”

We believe that information about the articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and learning about the human family from all countries, races, ethnicities and religions will foster compassion and Universal Brotherhood.  We aim at bringing out the commonality of Abrahamic faiths and recognize all other religious traditions in line with the following verses of the Holy Quran:

Say, ‘O People of the Book! come to a word equal between us and you — that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partner with Him, and that some of us take not others for Lords besides Allah.’ But if they turn away, then say, ‘Bear witness that we have submitted to God.’ (Al Quran 3:65)

Indeed, We have sent thee with the truth, as a bearer of glad tidings and as a Warner; and there is no people (on earth in any age) who did not receive a Warner from God.  (Al Quran: 35:25)

We are strong supporters of the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.  To go to the Muslim Times:
