 Washington DC Atfal Sleep Over & Trip to ZooReport By: Zahid Yousaf The date was December 31st 2008 and it all started at 8:00pm. The young members of majlis atfaal ahmadiya DC started making their way to the mosque in their parent’s company. Carrying their sleeping bags and other necessary items. They were greeted by their nazim atfaal and qaid Khudam. At 8:30pm salat Maghrib and Isha were offered behind Murabi atfaal the respected Khalid Mahmood sahib. No salat can be performed without azan, which was performed by Usama Ahmad Gill. After salat young atfaal were hungry and eager to eat so there was delicious food prepared by the member of khudam. Dinner was followed by clean up by all hands on deck. The chief guest was a surprise to all but not to qaid sahib; Respected brother Mansoor Shams regional qaid capital metro presided over most of the gathering. After clean up regional qaid sahib gave a presentation on khudam /atfaal website www.mkausa.org All of the atfal ere very excited and got involved very quickly. The session was very inter active and a lot of good information was passed around. All shared some sort of stories in the whole session. The session came to end with Dua led by Mansoor shams sahib. Lights out was at 10:30pm. The next morning all woke up early to perform tahajud. Some of Jamat members joined us as well. Respected Mansoor Rafiq sahib led Tahajud; May Allah give him strength he recited very heart warming surah of holly Quran. Salat Fajar was led by Respected DR. Mohammad Naeem sahib (sec. Taleem tarbiyat) all the salats were followed by dars and Q&A session. Q&A session was a great discussion on various different topics. Before all departed breakfast was served and all hand on deck clean up. Some sports event took place however due to cold weather it was cut shots and after dua all went home. 5 out of 7 atfaal and boys attended the event. 4 members of khudam helped out with the whole event, Jazakallah. We all still talk about that event our new year started with tahajud and our year has been great and all of us have tried our best to perform salat on timely and regular basis. On January 2nd first Juma of 2009 was led by nazim atfaal, Zahid Yousaf Sahib. He gave khutba on importance of Juma and nizam e jamat. Our 2nd sleepover was another successful event held on April 4,2009. 100% atfaal were present. The whole thing was planned about a month earlier. At 2 pm all atfaal made their ways to Fazal mosque. Nasirat also participated in the sleep over. Due to small complication we all took a trio the national ZOO. We decided to a trip in the metro, which was very crowded due to cherry blossom festival. Once at the Zoo we were not able to see a lot of the animals but quite a few gave us glimpse. The sleeping tiger was cute and apes were tired. The donkey was smelly but Chinese red small panda was colorful. The ostridge was tall but the small mammals were small. All loved the small mammal house. All the young children were tired so we all decided to go back. Brother Masood Ahmad sec finance decided to give rides to all in his car. The Khudam decided to walk back and found out that Zoo was only walking distance and time and money was wasted for no reason but nonetheless it was great exp erience. Salaat Maghrib and Isha were offered behind Murabi Atfaal Khalid Mahmood Sahib at the Fazal Mosque. Pizza was on the dinner menu and it was very fulfilling. Lights out was at 10:30pm. Next morning all woke up at 5Am after ablution nazim atfaal Zahid Yousaf led tahajud. Usama Ahmad performed azan for Fajar and salat Fajar was offered. Naib Ameer, Zaheer Bajwa sahib’s presence, blessed us all. Jazakallah. The atfaal decided to catch up to sleep before they woke up again to eat breakfast. All took a small walk to the park nearby to do some sports activities. Some played football others ran around and slides were their way of fun. Once we reached back to the mosque nazim Atfaal held class. Their were two classes one weekly only and one all Nasirat and atfaal. By 12:00 pm all jamat members had arrived to take part in the general meeting and Jalsa Seeratunabi SAW. Presiding were Respected Naib Ameer Zaheer Bajwa sahib and vice president Ahmad Haleem. President Mian Ismaeel Waseem sahib on Khatme nabuat, Zahid Yousaf on holly prophet Saw’s wisdom and kindness toward children gave speeches. Interactive quiz was by Naveed Malik sahib and concluding remarks by Naib Ameer sahib. The session concluded by Dua and salat zuhar and asar. This turned out to be a great success. A large number of jamat were present and all regarded the efforts of all atfaal. Every one gave words of encouragement and prayed for all of us. Jazakallah. May Allah give us strength to all of us and may we continue to get together like this over and over again. May Allah increase love among us and may we all grow up to spread his name and true message of holly prophet Mohammad SAW. All over the world. Ameen |
