Being Truthful [33:71] O ye who believe! fear Allah, and say the right word. The Holy Prophet (saw) was known in Arabia as the Truthful and Trustworthy and this was before he even became a Prophet! An Ahmadi Muslim lives his life trying to follow the Holy Prophet (saw). Example Say you did something wrong by mistake, you have to tell the truth, and admit you made a mistake.
Clean and Pure Language The 4th condition of Bait as set by Promised Messiah (as) That under the impulse of passion, he shall cause no harm whatsoever to the creatures of Allah in general, and Muslims in particular, neither by his tongue nor by his hands nor by any other means. An Ahmadi Muslim lives by all the conditions of Bait. Example In school or gym or at a friend’s house you may hear inappropriate language but you know that as an Ahmadi Muslim you would never do that.
Courage We all remember the incident when the Holy Prophet (saw) was told by Meccans to stop talking about Allah Almighty and he replied to his uncle that even if the sun was put on his right hand and the moon on his left he would continue to do what Allah ask him to. Courage means to be strong to do the right thing at the right time when others are afraid or unwilling to do it. Example You see somebody bully a class mate and you tell the bully to stop.
Empathy Empathy means to be able to put yourself in someone else’s shoes to feel what they’re feeling. Without empathy we cannot understand the suffering of others. If Allah has blessed us, then we should try to help others and be thankful to Allah for all his blessings. Example Go to a retirement center and spend some time with senior citizens. Talk to them, listen to them and be good company to them.
Firm Resolve [3:201] O ye who believe! be steadfast and strive to excel in steadfastness and be on your guard and fear Allah that you may prosper. Example It takes a firm resolve to live the life of an Ahmadi Muslim, being truthful and courageous, following the examples of Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) and the Promised Messiah (as).
On 24th November 1989, Hadhrat Khalifatulf Masih IV said ‘If Jamaat Ahmadiyya firmly adopts these five basics of good manners, we may rest assured that in the future their progeny will supervise and guard them. The benefit of their manners will spread to others. Then I can be sure that we, the believers, in the certainty that the monumental task entrusted to us has been accomplished by us to the limit of our potential, can pass on in peace and can, with some satisfaction, present ourselves before the Creator.’ (Friday Sermon delivered by Hadhrat Khalifatulf Masih IV on 24th November 1989) |
