Ablution

Perform Ablution (Wudhoo) if you need to. If you have relieved yourself, you must do Ablution.

On Time

Allah Almight says in the Holy Quran, “…verily Prayer is enjoined on the believers to be performed at fixed hours.” (4:104). It is best to offer Salat as soon as the call for Salat (Azaan) is made.  If you are late however, do not run to the mosque. Walk to the mosque in a dignified manner.

Preparation

If you are offering prayers at the Mosque, stand shoulder to shoulder and form a straight line. There should not be a gap between you and the person next to you.

Concentration

Concentrate on the words of the Salat and their meaning. It is easy to get distracted during Salat so remember that you are standing in front of Allah Almighty. This is your time with Allah.

Things to Remember

  • Do not talk loudly in the mosque, especially when there are other people offering Salat
  • Listen attentively to the Friday Sermon. Do not talk during the Friday Sermon
  • During Salat keep your eyes focused on the area in front of you. Do not let your eyes wander
