First time, when my 7 years old son asked me that he wants to google "something", I was quite surprised and thought about it and then helped him google. Although, he is not allowed to google himself but I have found it useful to quench his Internet thirst by going with him on a few sites which are very appropriate for children to take good advantage of the Internet. Following are some sites which my 7 years old son and 5 years old daughter are allowed to go to.
1) PBSkids: http://pbskids.org/ - we do not have cable at home so our kids watch pbs a lot and they are very familiar with characters of pbs children's shows and also like to enjoy games and interactive sessions on this website.
this site is also very useful for learnig math skills on internet.
Parents please visit these sites yourself first and then if you think appropriate, let your children enjoy these as well.

Celebrating Eid-ul Azhia
Here are some suggestions which have worked for us over the time which not only teach our children the improtance of Eidul Azhia but also keep them engaged and they have fun
- Fathers should take mature sons to part in the actual sacrifice of the goat on Eid Day.
- Children should always take the day off from school. Parents should try their best to take off from work as well.
- Children should prepare posters of each day of Zul-Hajj coming up to Eid Day so that they become acquainted with the rites of the Pilgrimage.
- Children should receive Eidees or nominal monetary gifts.
- Parents should notify school teachers in writing of the upcoming Eid and encourage teachers to give some time for the child to present to the class regarding why we celebrate Eid-ul-Azhia.
- On Eid Day, Jamaat/Auxiliary should arrange some fun, interactive games (e.g. Jeopardy using MS PowerPoint) focusing on Eid topics.
- On Eid Day, families should try their hardest to spend time with extended relatives or with other Jamaat families. Parents should try their hardest to make the day be as special as possible for the children.
