Etiquettes of Recitation
Etiquettes of Recitation:

Seek Allah's protection
And when thou recitest the Qur'an, seek refuge with Allah from Satan the rejected. (16:99)
Always start recitation by seeking Allah's protection from Satan

Respect
And when the Qur'an is recited, give ear to it and keep silence, that you may be shown mercy. (7:205)
Listen attentively when the Holy Quran is being recited.

Be Regular
... Recite, then, as much of the Qur'an as is easy for you... (73:21)
We should make it a habit to read the Holy Quran every day.

Best Time to Recite
Observe Prayer at the declining and paling of the sun on to the darkness of the night, and the recitation of the Qur'an in Prayer at dawn (17:79)

Ponder over the meaning
... and recite the Qur'an slowly and thoughtfully (73:5)
Recitation is half the battle. You have to understand the Quran as well. Read the translation as you're reciting

Memorize
And indeed We have made the Qur'an easy to understand and to remember. But is there anyone who would receive admonition? (54:18)

Memorizing portions of Holy Quran has two immediate benefits.
1. You gain blessings of Allah
2. You improve your memory and mental sharpness
