July 13, 2007 – MKA USA opened its 29th National Ijtema at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Upstate New York today, with the traditional flag hoisting ceremony. The ijtema, attended by hundreds of male Ahmadi Muslims, will continue until Sunday, July 15th; exclusively on-site in conjunction with the Annual Consultative Body Meeting.



During the Opening Session of today’s proceedings, Faheem Younus Qureshi, Sadr MKA USA, remarked on the theme of this year’s Ijtema – Brotherhood.
Following his personal remarks, Sadr Sahib then read a special message sent to the participants of the ijtema by Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (aba), Khalifatul Masih V (Supreme Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community).
 Dr. Ahsanullah Zafar, Ameer Jama’at USA also addressed the large audience, with great emphasis on the upcoming Khilafat Centenary Celebrations, anticipated in 2008. Ameer Sahib particularly stressed the need for involvement from each member of the community.  After the Opening Session, both Khuddam and Atfal began their respective Athletic Competitions; followed by dinner and salat. After Salatul Isha, Atfal participated in their Educational Competitions and Spelling Bee, while Saleem Qadir, Muhtamim Tarbiyyat, hosted a quick 10 minute Tarbiyyat Scenario Presentation for Khuddam. Various discussion topics were presented with several multiple-choice solutions. 3 Nau-Mobaeen (new entries) were also introduced, and each briefly shared their thoughts with those present. The audience also had an opportunity to ask open-forum questions regarding new converts; such as when is the appropriate time to ask a new entry to begin their chanda participation.  Tomorrow’s agenda begins with Salatul Tahajjud at 3:45 AM, and continues with the next rounds of competitions and workshops. DAY 2:

Today’s session began at with Salat-ul-Tahajjud at 3:45 am, which was followed by Salat-ul-fajr and Dars-ul-Quran and a short, 10 minute Tarbiyyat scenario which all concluded at about 4:50 am. Shortly afterwards, at 5:30 am, Majlis-e-Shura held their subcomitte meetings. The majority of Saturday was spent in completing the educational and athletic competitions for both Khuddam and Atfal. Just before lunch, Ulster County legislator Frank Felicello joined us to welcome us

From 2-8 pm, and onsite blood drive was held in conjunction with the New York blood center. Mashallah, MKA USA was able to donate 45 units of blood, despite having to turn away 15 other individuals who wanted to donate blood but did not meet the requirements.  

Towards the end of the day, there was a 90 minute interactive question and answer session with the murabbiyaan.


DAY 3:

Today's session began with Salatul Tahajjud at 3:45am, followed again by Salatul Fajr and Dars-ul-Qur'an and a Tarbiyyat Scenario. Majlis-e-Shura held their final session as well. During the Concluding Session, prizes for the various religious and althetic competitions were awarded to the winners. Munir Hamid, Respected Naib Ameer Jama'at USA and Faheem Younus Qureshi, Sadr MKA USA both addressed the audience. Sadr Sahib then requested Respected Sadr Majlis Ansarullah USA, Dr. Wajeeh Bajwa to lead the participants in the Pledge of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya. The 29th National Ijtema was then concluded with Silent Prayers led by Naib Ameer Jama'at USA.
