TALEEM SYLLABI FOR IJTEMA

KHUDDAM

Please refer to your Local Nazim Taleem/Qaid or www.mkausa.org for a detailed syllabus

Recitation of Holy Qur’an

Surah Bani Isra’il (Chapter 17) or Surah Al-Kahf (Chapter 18), please familiarize yourself with both chapters as Judges may choose from either.

 

Urdu Poem

Participants should recite the first three verses of either:

(1)“ Hamd o Sanaa usee ko jo Zaatay Jaawidaane” (Durr-e-Samin)

(2) “Hay Dast-e-Qibla Numaa” (Kalam-e-Mahmood), or

(3) “Waqt Kum Hay, Bohat Hayn Kaam” (Kalam-e-Tahir)

Urdu and English transliteration will be provided.

 

Impromptu Speech

Participants will be assigned one topic from the following list and be asked to deliver a 3-minute speech (with 5 minutes to prepare).

 

1. Divine attribute of Rabb (Lord)

2. Objective of the Creation of Man

3. The blessed model of the Holy Prophet

4. Defending the Honor of the Holy Prophet (saw)

5. Pious Models of the Companions of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him)

14. Obedience to Khilafat and to the administrative system of the Community

15. Death of Hazrat Isa (as)

English Poem

Participants should prepare a poem in English no less than 3 minutes in length. The topic of the Poem is: “Sacrifice in the Way of Allah”

 

Team Religious Knowledge (Oral)

Competition will be limited to one team of 6 per 20 Khuddam per Majlis. Questions may be derived from any area of Religious or Secular knowledge.

Mayar-e-Kabir: Random Portion from Verses 48-56 – Chapter 4

 

Memorization of Holy Qur’an

Mayar-e-Saghir: Last 6 chapters of the Holy Quran

Mayar-e-Kabir: Last 11 chapters of the Holy Quran

 

Prepared Speech (Maximum time: 3 minutes)

(i) Importance of Salat - Mayar-e-Saghir

(ii) Importance of Friday in Islam - Mayar-e-Saghir

(iii) The Holy Quran - Mayar-e-Saghir

(iv) Spending in the Cause of Allah - Mayar-e-Saghir

(i) Concept of Fasting in Islam - Mayar-e-Kabir

(ii) Importance of Hajj - Mayar-e-Kabir

(iii) Importance of Tahajjad Prayer - Mayar-e-Kabir

(iv) Hazrat Maryam - Mayar-e-Kabir

Team Trivia

Competition will be limited to one team of 6 per 20 Atfal per Majlis. Questions will be from 2 workbooks as well as 2 Tifl Posts published during the year.

 

 

SPORTS INFORMATION FOR IJTEMA

KHUDDAM and ATFAL

Sports will be scheduled so that each Majlis has an opportunity to participate in each event. Therefore, timing is very important and all members are requested to please follow the guidelines set forth by the administrators. All winners of these events from a Regional Level will represent the SE in the National Ijtema.

 

Each Majlis is allowed to have 1 team (if sufficient players are not available, Majlis’ may be allowed to combine with permission from Regional Qaid Sahib).


Soccer

Format: 11 vs. 11, 2- 7 Minute Halves with 1 Minute Halftime, In case of tie there will be a 3 minute OT after which if a tie remains the game will be a draw.
Penalty kicks will be used in Playoff and Championship rounds.

 

Flag Football

Format: 7 vs. 7, 2- 7 Minute Halves with 1 Minute Halftime, Sudden death overtime if game ends in draw or 3 minute session whichever comes first.

No tackling, there will be 3 lineman for the Offense.

 

Cricket

Cricket rules will be explained before the games.

 

Tug of War

Format: 7 vs. 7; standard tug of war.

 

Track and Field

Format: Depending on number of participants we will have 3 rounds for each event. Top 3 will move on to the Finals.
