Influenza (Steps to Prevent)

  • Wash your hands thoroughly and frequently. There in nothing better in terms of cost, practicality and effectiveness than washing your hands. If you say prayers five times a day then it would add to wash your hands with soap and water at the same time while you are performing wudu.
  • Never pick up used tissues.
  • Never share cups and eating utensils
  • Stay home from work or school when you're sick with the flu.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
  • Get vaccinated.

Because the vaccine prevents infection with only a few of the viruses that can cause flu-like symptoms, it isn't a guarantee against getting sick. But even if someone who's gotten the shot gets the flu, symptoms usually will be fewer and milder. It is adviseable for children ages 6 months onward to get vaccinated. If you have a new born in the house then other family members should get vaccinated

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, anyone who wants to reduce their risk of the flu can get a flu shot. The flu shot is approved for anyone older that 6 months of age.
