“Don’t sit home, come to the dome!” What’s that all about? The 29th National Ijtema of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya USA will be held in just 4 short weeks at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Upstate New York; and we want you to know all about it! July 13th, 14th and 15th are three days that you won’t want to be anywhere else except the dome.
I’ve been fortunate to have never missed an Ijtema since I moved to the US in 1989 as a tifl; and can share endless experiences that always have me looking forward to the next one. I think the highlight of being at the National Ijtema is seeing the faces of my brothers who I don’t get to meet on regular basis, witnessing the amazing talent in both educational and sports competitions across the nation, and seeing the smiles on the atfal with medals hanging around their necks. As all good things do come to end, while bidding farewell to my spiritual brothers new and old, I’m always hopeful to meet them again year after year.
As Nazim-e-Aala for this year’s National Ijtema, I’d like to quickly give you a glimpse into how we’re preparing to host the premiere event of the year for atfal and khuddam from coast-to-coast.
The National Ijtema Staff of 50+ khuddam have been holding regular conference calls in an effort to plan and improve the overall experience of each attendee. More than just talk, members of the team have already visited the ijtema site several times (including last Saturday) to ensure that the final program can be implemented as planned. Our team will also arrive in Hudson Valley a few days prior to July 13th to setup and test everything, making sure we’ve got it right.
Just because the ijtema is a few weeks away doesn’t mean you can’t start your experience now! Visit www.mkausa.org/ijtema to find everything you need to plan your trip. View our information package, register online, download competition syllabi, get travel directions and much more. This portal will be continuously updated before the Ijtema, so be sure to check back often.
As we continue planning towards a successful ijtema, this is a great time to provide us with your comments and feedback about past ijtemat. Email us at ijtema@mkausa.org and let us know how we can improve your experience. We’ll do everything possible to implement your suggestion(s).
On behalf of the entire National Ijtema Staff, I request your prayers for the success of this event; and ask that you also become an advocate for the National Ijtema. Encourage atfal and khuddam from your local majlis and region not to sit home, come to the dome!
