Contest Rules & Guidelines:
Participants must be a member of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya USA or Majlis Atfalul Ahmadiyya USA . All photos entered must be taken between 8/20 – 8/23/2008. Photos must be submitted by 11:59 PM EDT, 8/23/08, so that winners can be announced on Sunday, 8/24/2008. Participants are encouraged to enter all 3 categories, submitting a maximum of 10 photos per category (no limit on the number of entries in the Portfolio Category). This is a digital photo contest, no traditional film will be accepted. Unsorted folders of photos will not be considered.  Only JPEG or TIFF files will be accepted (RAW files should be converted to JPEG or TIFF prior to entry). Digital enhancement (ie. Adobe Photoshop) of photos is permissible, provided that you inform us of what adjustments you made on your entry form. All entries must include a brief caption telling us about your photo. While it is preferred that you take photos at a minimum of 3MP, 1024 x 768, there is no minimum/maximum resolution or dimension requirement. The $100 grand prize will be awarded based on the pool of 1st prize photos from the 3 categories. Entries should be submitted directly on-site in the Ijtema Office to the MKA USA Newswire Staff. All submitted photos will become the property of MKA USA , and may be used under a “creative-commons” license. Submissions will be reviewed anonymously by a panel based on the following rubric:


Criteria

Contains good composition and framing.

 


Lighting is appropriate for the subject (ie. day shots are clear, night shots are clear).

 


Point of interest is in focus.

 


Subject appears natural (not a posed photo) and is overall pleasing to see.
