Guests Coming to National Ijtema

Besides around a 1000 Khuddam, Atfal, and Ansar coming to Ijtema, we have the following prominent guests also coming to Ijtema.

Wisconsin State Senator Lena Taylor has confirmed that a representative from her office will attend the National Ijtema Inshallah.
 
Senator Taylor recieved this year's Ahmdiyya Muslim Community Leadership Award at the Black History month celebration held at the Park-Lawn YMCA. 
 
Senator Lena C. Taylor was elected on November 2, 2004 to the 4th Wisconsin State Senate District, becoming only the 2nd African American Woman to serve in the Senate.  She currently serves as the Chair of the Senate Committee on Judiciary and Corrections, and is in her second term on the powerful budget-writing Joint Committee on Finance. In only her fourth year as a legislator, Taylor has truly proven to be a woman of distinction and a rising star in Wisconsin politics.
 
A life-long resident of Milwaukee, Senator Taylor is a 1984 graduate of Rufus King High School.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in 1990, and a law degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1993.  
After Law School, Taylor worked as a Public Defender for more than two years representing indigent citizens in need of legal services.  In 1996, she opened Taylor and Associates Law Office, a general practice firm on the north side of Milwaukee.

Milwaukee Alderman Joe Dudzik has confirmed that he will Inshallah be joining us at the national Ijtema.
 
(Alderman Joe Dudzik has been a resident of Milwaukee's 11th District for 48 of his 50 years. Alderman Dudzik has a strong background in city government and community involvement. He also served for more than 20 years in the city's Department of Public Works.

Elected in a special election on April 2, 2002, Alderman Dudzik won his first elected office and continues to serve as 11th District alderman after winning his seat again in 2004 and 2008.

He founded and has served as chair of the Euclid Park Neighborhood Association, and also served as treasurer of the Crime Prevention Neighborhood Advisory Council for the 6th Police District. His work in the community has included service as a volunteer for the Special Olympics, as a youth softball and soccer coach and as an instructor at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee. He was vice president/trustee of Local 47 of AFSCME District Council 48, was a delegate of Milwaukee County Labor Council and is a member of the Milwaukee Municipal Engineers Association.
