General Travel Guidelines:
All participants are expected to attend Salatul Jummah (Friday Prayer) at the Ijtema site and stay until the end of the Concluding Session on Sunday, August 9th
Please e-mail your itinerary to: travel@mkausa.org AND provide the full details of your travel during the Online Registration Process
All Pick-up requests must be submitted by Friday, July 31st
Preferred Airport:
General Mitchell International Airport, Milwaukee (MKE) - Full Service
Pick up service will be available starting Thursday, August 06th and drop off will end Sunday evening, August 09th, 2009. All participants are expected to arrive prior to Friday Prayer service, therefore your flight must arrive no later than 12:30 PM CDT in order to attend the Friday Prayer. MKE Airport is approximately 10 miles/25 mins from the Ijtema Site; please plan your arrival accordingly.
Alternate Airport: (Restricted Service due to distance. Please review carefully)
1. Chicago Ohare Inernational Airport (ORD) - 69 Miles / 2 Hour to Ijtema Site (dependent on traffic)
Directions: Take I-190E, I-294N, I-94W (Towards Milwaukee/Wisconsin), Exit 325, Stay on US-41N, Left on Ryan Road, Sports Complex is on the right hand side.
2. Chicago Midway Airport (MDW) - 90 Miles / 3+ Hours to Ijtema Site (dependent on traffic)
Directions: Take IL-50N (Cicero Ave.), I-55N, Exit 292A to I-94W (Towards Milwaukee/Wisconsin), Exit 325, Stay on US-41N, Left on Ryan Road, Sports Complex is on the right hand side.
If you choose to fly to Midway (MDW) we will provide you service and cost information for a transport bus service to General Mitchell International Airport (MKE). Information for bus service can be found at CoachUSA.
Drop-Off Service:
We strongly encourage you to consider your departure flights after 4 PM and 6 PM EDT from MKE and ORD/MDW respectively, so adequate time is available for your timely transportation to the airport
