Punishment for Disobedience

This is the story of a boy named Rizwan who used to bug his father for a cell phone all the time because all of his friends had one. His father tried to explain that he was too young and didn't need it, but he was too jealous of all the boys around him who were using a cell phone. One day he somehow managed to buy a phone without telling his parents about it. He was very happy and was trying to use it while hiding it from his parents at the same time. One day he was using his phone on the street when police came and arrested him for using a stolen cell phone. He tried to explain that he payed for it and had not stolen it but the police didn't believe him. Finally the police officer decided to call his parents to verify if Rizwan had indeed bought it, but obviously they had no clue. Rizwan was in a lot of trouble. The police officer told his father that Rizwan was being held in prison for stealing a cell phone. His father had to go through a lot of embarrassment before having him bailed out, but by that time everybody in the family and neighborhood knew what happened to Rizwan. He was really ashamed, and hid from everyone. Those were some really tough days. He learned his lesson and promised that he would never do anything against his parent's wishes and will always listen to them.

The Story of Coffee

Once upon a time in Ethiopia, a shepherd was with his herd of sheep when he observed something strange. Some of the sheep that were lazy and tired all day were jumping up and down and were full of energy and were trying to eat a red fruit off some bushes. He tasted that fruit himself and found it to be pretty good and refreshing. He took some of that back to his village and gave it to the priest, after narrating the whole incident to him. The priest deemed it an evil fruit and threw it in the fire. The whole room all of a sudden got filled with a refreshing smell. The priest took some of that burnt seed and put it in a bowl of water. He could not resist it and drank some of that water that refreshed him immensely and he felt a sudden rush of energy. He shared it with other priests in the church and they all really liked it and started calling it a blessing of God. Today we know that seed as coffee beans and we now know that it is the  caffeine in it that does the trick.

Coin Collecting--An Interesting Hobby

Collecting coins is a very useful hobby. We can learn about history, geography, arts and culture through various engravings on the coins. It is known to be started as a hobby from the Roman era. One can start by collecting the coins that are in circulation these days. You can also ask friends, family members and elders for some of those old coins that might be antique by now. You can contact somebody in the market who sells or buys coins. If somebody you know is traveling overseas ask them to bring some coins back for you. For coin collectors a complete series of proof set is also released. With the passage of time these coins get more valuable. Remember its not the cost of the coin that makes it valuable; its how old and antique it is that makes it valuable.

The Wise King

One upon a time there were two brothers who were very poor and were living under extreme hardship. They decided to move to a different city in search of work. With Allah's blessings and their hard work they established their own butcher shop.  They were so successful that they become wealthy. After some time they started missing their family and decided to go back to visit them. They put all their money in the form of coins in a sack. On their way back they met a beggar who was blind. The poor beggar asked if he could smell and touch the money because he never had any money. The brothers gave him the sack, so he could smell and feel it. The moment the beggar got his hands on the money he ran away, the brothers ran after him but the clever beggar, who was in fact a thief, started screaming for help. He began shouting that someone should save him from the two thieves that were after his money. The two brothers got confused and were startled by his actions. In the mean time, people caught them and took them to the king's court. After listening to the whole story the king asked for a bowl of hot water and asked them to throw the coins in that. After a little while he looked at the beggar and ordered the guards to arrest him. The people asked him how he determined who the criminal was.  He replied, "look in that bowl of hot water. The coins had  'fat' that now has floated to the surface of the bowl, clearly indicating who they belonged to."
