Walk for Peace - About

Walk for Peace has been postponed until further notice.

 

MKA, the leading Muslim youth organization in America and part of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, is sponsoring its first annual “Walk for Peace” on Sunday, September 11, 2011. Proceeds from the walk will go to three charities, one of which will be Humanity First USA, which provides relief and sustainable living for disaster-struck communities globally.

The walk is taking place in New York City and will include representatives from the various local chapters in the Unites States of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

It is by our collective action and will that we can counter the evils acts of extremists around the world. By “standing up” against these extremists and continuing to “walk” we demonstrate that they cannot undermine or shake the values that make America great, which include freedom,  opportunity, and justice, and make New York, with its diversity spanning from nations all over the world, the greatest example of peaceful co-existence today.
