This is a test

Place the rest of the article here. If there are any links that needed to be added, please refer to the following steps:

  1. Highlight over the text and click on the chain link.
  2. If you are linking to an external web page (outside our MKA website), enter the address of the linked paged in the URL box.
  3. If you are linking to an internal page, or an uploaded file (under document center), go under Joomla! Content Links, select "Article" under link type, and then navigate to the folder where the article is archived.
  4. Under Class List, select "MKA Link".
This user-friendly method of creating links is preferred because the Joomla program will be able to periodically check the status of each link and flag an erroneous one in case a file gets shifted.

Inserting and Aligning Pictures

insertpichere.png

ANY picture or graphic that you wish to display MUST be uploaded to the MKA server before you can insert it into your web page. To upload the picture, you must do the following:

  1. Make sure that the picture you are uploading is in a JPG, GIF, or PNG format. These are the more common formats which all browsers are able to support.
  2. Click on the "Insert/Edit Image" Icon on the above toolbar (last row-fourth button) to bring up the Image Manager. Here, you can upload the picture locally from the saved location on your hard drive. First, use the bottom left tree shell to navigate to the directory on the MKA website where you wish to store your picture. Ideally, this should be in your Department's own folder. Click on the Upload button (middle of the screen on the right side- third button) to bring up the Upload manager. Select browse to navigate to the file on your hard drive, and click OK when you are completed. The image will now appear in the directory you selected.
  3. Click on the image name in the bottom center tree shell to select it for inserting. If you wish to align the picture on the center of the page, or on the right of the text, choose alignment drop-down box at the top of the Image Manager and choose the appropriate location. By default, the image will be aligned to the left.
insertpichere.pngRemember, if you are uploading any pictures, they MUST be on the MKA Server--you should not directly link images from other websites, including Al-Islam.
You can still link an image with an article. Just click on the image, select the Link Icon, and follow the steps outlined under Inserting Links. If you wish to remove the link border, click on the image, choose the Image Manager, and type "0" next to the Border option at the top of the window.

Finalizing the Webpage

The webpage created must be saved under its appropriate directory. For example, if the page has to do with an upcoming event (blood drive, career fair, tabligh seminar, etc.), it should go under Section: News and Category: Upcoming Events. If the webpage is discussing a summary or highlights of a recent event, it must go under the appropriate Department's Section. After the page is reviewed by the MKA Administrative Team, it will appear on the website's front page.
