Real Talk's Visit to the States

REAL TALK SHOW - Starting 11th January 2010

In November, 2010, the MTA International team visited the United States for the first ever international series of Real Talk. Working in collaboration with Maulana Azhar Hanif Sahib and the MTA USA team, the tour was a huge success. Many panel members and audience traveled from across the US to participate.

Though the team was based in Washington, they traveled to Philadelphia and New York to film interviews and street reports. The MTA USA team worked tirelessly to ensure the highest production quality.  Many new and exciting program topics were covered including education, health and alternative medicine, materialism in society, sports in the U.S and converts to Islam.

In between shooting episodes in Washington, the team traveled to Philadelphia on their way to New York.  Philadelphia gave the team a chance to meet the local Jama'at and film valuable interviews with converts. The next stop was New York where Ahmad Chaudhry, National Secretary Sami-o-Basri worked with the team to film a number of street reports around New York City. In the evening, the team met up with the Queens Jama'at at the mosque where an informal talk was held with the local teams.

Alhamdolillah, the feedback from the shows participants was excellent and all the Khuddam who took part enjoyed a great discussion. Since the return of the Real Talk team to the UK, MTA USA has produced their first local USA Real Talk program, shot on December 31st.  Inshallah, the MTA USA team will be producing a monthly program of Real Talk so there's plenty of fresh discussion yet to come.
