Tasheez- Recitation of the Holy Quran Must be Performed

kmv_15The Recitation of the Holy Quran Must be Performed Daily by Every Ahmadi
Translated from Tasheez Magazine

Hazrat Khalifa tul Masih ul Khamis said:

“In order to fill the heart with the light of Allah, and to see what Allah has commanded us to do and what Allah has commanded us not to do, we should learn and read the Holy Quran. Those who know the translation of the Holy Quran should teach it to others. Daily dars (lesson) on Holy Quran should be established in the Jamaat. Those who cannot read and understand the Holy Quran will receive an understanding of this beautiful teaching.

Every Ahmadi should recite the Holy Quran daily, so that he may be a recipient of the blessings of the Holy Quran and his heart may be filled with Taqwa (fear of Allah). Promised Messiah (as) said that even if a person is not a believer, yet reads the Holy Quran with fairness, without ignorance, jealousy or narrow-mindedness, then this will be the beginning of taqwa. So if one reads the Holy Quran with an open mind, then Allah will grant him a guiding light.
Those who believe and read the Holy Quran with taqwa (fear of Allah), will get guidance from the Holy Quran without any doubt, and they will follow the path of righteousness. If a believer does not experience the exciting light of guidance after reading and hearing the Holy Quran then he should worry that he is lacking in Taqwa.

Then he added:

“The Holy Quran states … and the prophet will say my Lord, my nation has discarded this Quran (Sura Alfurqan verse: 31). Thus the Ahmadis should always pay attention to this because one can get influenced by the surroundings and worldliness may overcome one. There should not be even one Ahmadi who does not recite the Holy Quran daily. There should not be even one Ahmadi who does not act on its commandments. May it be that there should be no Ahmadi regarding whom the verse states that they have foresaken the Quran. Thus, we should pay attention to it. Every one should reflect on his own character to see if there are any weaknesses, and whether we have left the Holy Quran. One should see whether the recitation is being done daily; whether effort is being made to read the translation and understand the commentary of the Holy Quran. This is what is meant by “discarded” that people are not acting on its commandments, and are neither observing the rights of Allah, nor of men. With this self-reflection everyone will become aware of their situation and no one else will need to remind them. (Friday sermon delivered on 26 March 2004. Ref: Khutbat Masroor vol:2, page 221)
