Ramadhan and Our Obligation

Assalam-o-Alaikum Wa Rehmatullah

Dear Brother,

I pray this month of Ramadan has opened the doors of heaven for you and your family, and I pray you continue to take advantage of this blessed month and become a true model of righteousness.  Ameen.

I specifically wanted to remind you of your financial obligation to Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya.  We have only two months left in our fiscal year, but we still have nearly 33% of our collection for membership dues (chanda) remaining.  You should do whatever you can to fulfill your budget during this month of Ramadan. You may contact your local Qaid or National Muhtamim Maal (see info below) to get specific updates about the status of your annual membership dues.

You should realize that out of a tajneed of more than 2,000, just over a 1,000 Khuddam members have participated in paying their MKA membership dues.  Furthermore, the distribution of collection is on the lower side: over 900 members have paid less than $500 (with nearly a third paying the minimum) and only 34 have paid over a $1,000.  We have made good progress over last year in terms of both participation and collection, but as you can see there are still large gaps.

We need you to come through for us and there is no easier time than this month to fulfill your financial obligations.  First I would like you to pray for our Majlis and then I would like you to fulfill your annual pledge.  Keep in mind that for earning members the annual rate for Majlis membership dues is 1% of annual take home pay and Ijtema dues are 1% of monthly take home pay. As a general rule of thumb, for every $10,000 you earn your MKA chanda is $120 ($100 Majlis and $20 Ijtema).
