Controversy Continues over New York Mosque

As a Muslim American, I agree that building a mosque even two blocks away from Ground Zero is a sensitive issue for our nation. The fact is that renegade Muslims carried out 9/11.

A few of my own relatives narrowly escaped the World Trade Center attacks. Thus, if the Muslim group that wishes to build a mosque near Ground Zero is responsible for 9/11, or is in any way associated with terrorism, it should be banned from erecting a mosque anywhere in America.

If, on the other hand, it unequivocally rejects religious extremism and, in fact, represents Muslims for peace, then I completely side with President Barack Obama in reaffirming our country's First Amendment that declares the right of religious practice to all citizens.
