At the Republican National Convention, former New York Republican Mayor Rudolph Giuliani exclaimed, "The Democrats were afraid to use the words 'Islamic terrorism.' ... Please tell me, who are they insulting? They are insulting terrorists."
Well, the comment was insulting to me, and the millions of US Muslims, who are peace-loving, law-abiding citizens and many of whom serve proudly in uniform. National political conventions should bring a nation together, rather than dividing them by bigotry. I invite Giuliani to my local mosque (in Meriden), especially now during the month of Ramadan, to see for himself what Islam really is.
