Dear Editor:

As a Muslim, not only do I have a duty to respect the religious beliefs of others, but I am commanded by God to believe in his angels, and in his books, and in his messengers.

It says in the Koran, "We make no distinction between any of his messengers."

It is this attitude that will eventually lead to peace. The fact that some Muslims (one could argue, a majority of Muslims) refuse to follow this teaching is a grand tragedy and serves as a reminder that it is not religion that causes war but its misguided adherents.

Sincerely,

Zahid Mian
