Muslim-American Is Proud To Honor Veterans
By: Sohail Hussain

I am a Muslim-American belonging to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, and on Veterans Day I look forward to honoring the men and women who have served in the defense of our country. To those who see a conflict between Islam and America, I share my Muslim Community’s Youth Pledge which states that, “I shall always be ready to sacrifice my life, wealth, time and honor for the sake of my faith, country and nation.” The founder of the Ahmadiyya Community Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad wrote over a hundred years ago that obedience to governmental authority is an imperative of the Muslim holy book the Quran. For these reasons, it should be no surprise that this Muslim-American cheers on our American veterans who risked their lives to promote the honor and safety of our nation.
