11/11/10, Letter to Editor, Contra Costa Times

Al-Qaida has claimed ownership of an attack on a Christian church in Iraq in November, murdering nearly 60 worshippers and wounding countless others. As a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, I wholly condemn this heinous crime.

To the perpetrators of these attacks: If the Quran states that pious Christians are among the inmates of paradise (2:63; 5:70), and killing one innocent person is like killing all of mankind (5:33), then perhaps it is you who are condemned.

I urge moderate Muslims to wake up and speak out. My deepest prayers are with the families of the departed souls.
