Our Prayers Are With Them

It is shocking to hear the news of terrorist attack on the Our Lady of Salvation Church in Iraq. Around 60 worshipers lost their lives while they were attending prayer services. While a terrorist attack is nothing new in Iraq, an attack on a church is extremely heinous. It also contradicts the teachings of Prophet Muhammad who, in writing, assured Christians protection from any act of aggression from Muslims. The attack also violates the Quranic injunction (22:41) which declares Muslims must fight to defend churches.

As a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, I condemn these acts of violence in the name of any religion. I express my condolences to the families of the victims. Our prayers are with you.
