As a Muslim, and more importantly, a human, I strongly condemn Asia Bibi's death sentence – a completely illegal and un-Islamic proposition. Nowhere in the Quran, nor in the practice of the Prophet Muhammad, does one find support for punishment of blasphemy. Bibi's situation is emblematic of the dire circumstances of religious minorities in Pakistan.

America must urge Pakistan to amend it's hypocritical laws, which deny suffrage and even the right to life to its citizens. Eliminating extremism from Pakistan – our supposed ally – depends on it.
