Judgment Day
By: Osaama Saifi

Harold Camping and his followers sprayed the world with billboards announcing Christ's return. Precisely on May 21, the world would come to a bloody end.  As a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, I believe in a metaphorical, not literal, return of Christ, as our community's founder, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, claimed at the turn of the 20th century -- no grandiose claims of the end of the world.

Contrary to Camping's understanding, the Messiah, like other prophets, would usher in peace, not destruction. If a Messiah is to return, dialogue and steadfastness is the means to victory, not destruction.
