I still remember the immense pain I felt at the horrific scenes of Sept. 11. I am glad and relieved the mass murderer Osama bin Laden is dead. But bin Laden's death is not the end and the pain he has caused will continue if we are not proactive. Like President Obama has said, "We must and we will remain vigilant at home and abroad."
Therefore, Americans should actively join anyone who is committed to this fight against extremism. For example, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, America's oldest Islamic-American organization, is working tirelessly in its grass roots Muslims for Loyalty campaign. From Los Angeles to New York, and Seattle to Miami, members are taking to the streets to deliver fliers indicating that Islam espouses loyalty to America, love and peace.
Bin Laden's death is merely a beginning to fighting extremism domestically and internationally. Let's make sure we finish the job.
