Pakistan Fails To Learn From The Past
By: Maaiz Khan

It has been just over a year since the May 28, 2010 bombings of the Ahmediyya worship places in Lahore that killed 86 people. It seems nothing has changed though. In Faisalabad, the Khatam-e-Nabuwat group is publicly distributing pamphlets that brazenly state, “Killing Ahmedis in an open market is jihad and virtuous.” The pamphlet continues: “Kill Ahmedis and receive the status of a martyr,” followed by phone numbers and an e-mail address of the publishers.

It is shockingly obvious that the pamphlets are an effort to incite the murder of many Ahmedis, yet the law enforcement agencies have taken no action. Has Pakistan not learned anything from May 28, 2010 or are our politicians just choosing to ignore the murders of Ahmedis in an effort to gain the support of the extremist factions within Pakistan?
