Tragic Losses
By: Tahir Khan

As Pakistanis try to cope with one of the largest floods in the history of Pakistan, the extremists are continuing their killing spree across the country. It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we have learned that Habibur Rehman, an American citizen and a long-time member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, was murdered by Pakistan-based religious extremists on Aug. 19.

Rehman was an active member of the community and was visiting Pakistan to help out with the relief efforts. Rehman is the second member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community to be killed in Pakistan in less than a week. Najam Hasan, a pediatrician, was shot and killed earlier last week outside his clinic in Karachi, Pakistan.

Rehman and Hasan both will be dearly missed by their friends, family and over 500 members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in Milwaukee.
