Membership 2000

You may have seen this expression or perhaps heard it recently, but do you know what this is? Are we asking you to look back at the turn of the century? Is this a cryptic expression to remind us of the Y2K bug? No, this is simply our Chanda participation goal given to us by our Sadr Sahib. We need to have at least 2,000 Khuddam and Atfal participate in giving Auxiliary Chanda. We proudly say Labaik to the call of our Sadr and inshaAllah will attain this goal with room to spare.

Why the term Membership, you ask? Paying your auxiliary Chanda is a requirement of being a member of Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya (or Atfaul-ul-Ahmadiyya). So it is imperative that we announce this basic requirement and ask members to consider the consequences of their inaction. Majlis Kuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya has much to offer its members, so being a member should be a high priority. To borrow a term from the secular world, "Membership has its privileges!"

From a historical perspective, we have a seemingly daunting task in front of us. Last year we worked extremely hard, but ended up with just over 1,650 participants. We have a Tajneed of roughly 2,500, so this number represents a small majority. It means we have a very high pool of "members" who have ignored this fundamental duty of paying their auxiliary dues. How can you help in attaining this goal? First, make sure you’ve paid your dues. If possible, try to pay the entire year’s budget in the first month of the year rather than spreading it out over the entire year. This will help us focus on those that need an extra reminder. Secondly, encourage your family and friends to pay their dues. Remind them of the importance of their dues. Encourage them to come to MKA activities, so they better understand how their dues are used by the greater membership. Keep in mind that nothing is possible without prayers, so pray for each other that we are all able to carry out our duties. With your healthy attitude and prompt response to this request, inshaAllah, Membership 2000 will be another notch in the efforts of MKA USA.
