MSQ Souvenir To commemorate 100 years of Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya, Muslim Writers Guild of America, in coordination with Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, USA, has assembled the first-ever historical retrospective of the tradition of jihad bil qalam ("jihad by the pen") in Islam and Ahmadiyyat.  Towards a Greater Jihad: Using the Pen in Islam's Defense  chronicles the venerable tradition of the intellectual defense of Islam through Quranic extracts, Ahadith, Malfoozat, and scholarly articles.  It also includes an anthology of six years' worth of publications by Muslim Writers Guild of America members.

3rd Annual Muslim Writers Guild of America Conference
  • The 3rd Annual Muslim Writers Guild of America Conference took place in Long Island, New York on February 13-14, 2010. 10 Muslim Writers Guild of America members participated in the rigorous day-and-a-half conference, which featured op-ed writing workshops, a social networking forum and breakout sessions on book writing.  In addition, Muslim Writers Guild of America elected a new Chairman for the next two years.

  • Alhumdholillah, Muslim Writers Guild of America had a record-breaking year.  The team published almost 60 op-eds and letters in defense of Islam in major American newspapers


2008-2009 Writing Excellence Award


  1. Personally work with each member to polish their writing on a monthly basis. So far at least 10 people, some new and some already MSQ members, have agreed to participate. I promise to you today that anyone who commits to this process will, Inshallah, become an eloquent and articulate writer within 1 year's time.
  2. Encourage each MSQ member to publish at least a letter to the editor (if not an op-ed) once a month in the defense of Islam and Prophet Muhammad (saw).
  3. Maintain a regularly updated grammar & writing style section on the MSQ web page for members benefit.
  4. Present, with commentary, model letters/op-ed's for members benefit.
  5. Work towards becoming the premier writer's guild in the English language dedicated to defending the honor of Islam and Prophet Muhammad (saw).
