The Muslim Writers Guild of America seeks to:

2) Respond systematically to critics of Islam through scholarly rejoinders. The group endeavors to defend the honor and sanctity of Islam by waging a "jihad of the pen."

صف دشمن کو کیا ھم نے بہ حجت پامال

سیف کا کام  قلم  سے ھی دکھایا ھم  نے

With incontrovertible arguments we crushed the enemy lines,

The sword’s work we demonstrated with the pen

MSQ Souvenir To commemorate 100 years of Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya, Muslim Writers Guild of America, in coordination with Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, USA, has assembled the first-ever historical retrospective of the tradition of jihad bil qalam ("jihad by the pen") in Islam and Ahmadiyyat. Towards a Greater Jihad: Using the Pen in Islam's Defense chronicles the venerable tradition of the intellectual defense of Islam through Quranic extracts, Ahadith, Malfoozat, and scholarly articles. It also includes an anthology of six years' worth of publications by Muslim Writers Guild of America members.

Department of Muslim Writers Guild of America, 2009-2010 Year in Review

  • Alhumdhulillah, the Muslim Writers Guild of America published ~130 op-eds and letters in defense of Islam in local, national and international periodicals.

  1. Personally work with each member to polish their writing on a monthly basis. So far at least 10 people, some new and some already MSQ members, have agreed to participate. I promise to you today that anyone who commits to this process will, Inshallah, become an eloquent and articulate writer within 1 year's time.
  2. Encourage each MSQ member to publish at least a letter to the editor (if not an op-ed) once a month in the defense of Islam and Prophet Muhammad (saw).
  3. Maintain a regularly updated grammar & writing style section on the MSQ web page for members benefit.
  4. Present, with commentary, model letters/op-ed's for members benefit.
  5. Work towards becoming the premier writer's guild in the English language dedicated to defending the honor of Islam and Prophet Muhammad (saw).
