Ten Essential Qualities for Jihad bil Qalam


(1) The writer must have a command of the Arabic language.

(2) The writer must have undertaken an in-depth study of religion.

(3) The writer must be well-versed with secular knowledge such as in the science, astronomy, and medicine.

(4) The writer must have committed to memory the passage of the Bible that relate to prophecies.

(5) The writer must possess a high level of taqwa (righteousness) and understand the existence of spiritual occurrences.

(6) The writer must have a command in the field of history.

(7) The writer must possess a deep understanding of logic, both inductive and deductive.

(8) The writer must possess a large number of books.

(9) The writer must have ample time to dedicate to these matters.

(10) The writer must have a miraculous ability to have his prayers accepted.
