Shining Stars of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community
On February 6th, 2011, three of our fellow Khuddam from Indonesia were martyred simply for being Ahmadi Muslims. A mob of over 1,000 people attacked a house where 20 or so Ahmadi Muslims were congregating. Soon after this horrific event, video of the relentless attack was obtained by Human Rights Watch and showed the world the ugly, violent character of the attackers.
The three Khuddam were Tubaqus Chandra Mubarak Sahib Shaheed, Ahmad Warsono Sahib Shaheed, and Roni Pesarani Sahib Saheed. While practicing their faith and believing in the Promised Messiah (as), they gave the ultimate sacrifice and earned the glad tidings of paradise. Huzur (aba) referred to them as the Shining Stars of Ahmadiyyat.
Tubaqus Chandra Mubarak Sahib Shaheed was 34 years old and a born Ahmadi. He leaves behind a widow who is 5 months pregnant. A day prior to the martyrdom, his wife asked him not to go to his Jama'at work but he chose to go. At the time of the attack, he was inside the mission house and was in front. Even after his martyrdom, the attackers continued to beat him and disfigure his dead body. His younger brother identified his body by a mark.
Ahmad Warsono Sahib Shaheed was 38 years old and leaves behind a widow and four children. He was introduced to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in 2000 during the visit of Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih IV (may Allah have mercy on him). He took the bai'at in 2002. Since that time, he developed spiritually and morally. At the time of the attack, he was also in the mission house and after being martyred, was relentlessly beaten.
Roni Pesarani sahib Shaheed was 35 years old and had taken the bai'at in 2008. He leaves behind a widow and two daughters. After seeing a photo of the Promised Messiah (as), he recognized him to be the person he had seen in a dream. After his Bai'at, those around him saw a spiritual transformation. His tabligh resulted in many bai'ats. His body was also disfigured after becoming a martyr.
While we as members of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya USA, live in a country with protection for freedom of religion, our brothers in Indonesia do not. We should strive to follow the instructions of our beloved Huzur (aba) and pray two Nawafil each day for our Ahmadi brothers being persecuted around the world. In addition, we should work relentlessly to bring attention to these atrocities and be steadfast in our own faith. This is how we can stand hand in hand with our fellow Khuddam.
