QRC 2008 FAQ

QRC 2008 Policies / Guidelines
 
  • When and where is the QRC for 2008?
  • This year's QRC will be held on November 15-16, 2008 at the newly constructed Masjid Mahmood, outside of Detroit. The address for the mosque is: 1730 W. Auburn Road, Rochester Hills, MI 48309.

  • When should I book my air ticket?
  • Attendees should book their tickets as soon as possible.
     
  • Who pays for the airfare?
    National Amila members have already receieved instructions from Sadr Majlis and Mohtamim Maal regarding reimbursement. Qaideen are expected to use local funds to pay for the airfare. For all unique situations, a Qaid should contact his Regional Qaid who can either solve the matter or get further help from Mohtamim Maal.

  • What should be the timings of my arrival and departure?
  • National Amla members are expected to arrive by 6PM on Friday, November 14th to attend the National Majlis-e-Amila Meeting. Qaideen are requested to arrive by Friday night so they can be present for the Opening Session on Saturday at 9AM. All attendees should book departure tickets after 3PM on November 16th.

  • Is there a preferred airport / airline?
  • Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) is the ONLY airport to which pick-up / drop-off shutte service will be provided. DTW serves as a major hub for Northwest Airlines; MKA USA has secured a "Discount Travel Meeting Agreement" with NWA. To use the discount code, visit nwa.com. Click on: Do you have an NWA Discount Travel E-cert or other voucher? Near the lower right corner, in the section titled: E-Cert Do you have an NWA Discount Travel E-Cert, Electronic Credit Voucher (ECV), Meeting Agreement or an NWA Extras Voucher? Select YES. Under the "Select Type", choose Meeting Agreement. In the field provided, enter code: NM2NK
  
   Of course, the preferred airline is the one offering the lowest fare for the designated arrival / departure times.

  • Can I bring my Local Amila members to the QRC?
  • Local Amila members (if allowed by the Local Qaid) are welcome. This will be an excellent opportunity for them to increase their understanding of MKA.
     
  • Will my Local Amila members get travel subsidy?
  • MKA USA does not provide for the travel expenses of Local Amila members from the national budget.

  • What if I plan to come late or leave early?
  • It is strongly discouraged to arrive late or depart before the conclusion of the event. Under exceptional circumstances, you are required to seek permission from Sadr MKA USA before making your travel reservations.

  • When will the detailed program of the QRC be available?
  • Detailed program for the QRC will be announced in October.
     
  • How can I maximize my visit to the QRC?
    Qaideen can maximize their visit by: a) Writing down any questions they have faced during the year as they will have the opportunity to meet with each National Amila member in person.  b) Bringing members of their Local Amila with them. c) Bringing your Tajneed files, reciept books and other documents so specific advice can be offered.

  • National Amila members can maximize their expereince by: a) Reviewing all the reports of Majalis specific to their office so they have a clear idea of individual strengths and weaknesses. b) bringing printed material and handouts for their resource fair table. c) Using newer tools of communication such as short videos, pictures, success stories etc. 
     
  • Where should I send any ideas, suggestions, or comments about the QRC?
  • It is not too late for you to submit any ideas that will enhance this year's QRC program. Please submit them to the QRC Conference Coordinator, Naem Mohamed at naem.mohamed@gmail.com

  • Who do I call if I have more questions?
  • Qaideen should contact their regional qaideen for any clarifications. National Amila members may contact Muhammed A. Chaudhry, Naib Sadr MKA USA.
