A story of Blessings!  By Nadeem A. Butt (Qaid MKA S.VA)

It was Sunday, about 3 pm last Ramadhan, when I received a call from Sharjeel Sb, that I owed some Khuddam Chanda.

“How much?” I asked
$208.

I was a little surprised to learn that (because I thought it would be about $100 or so). I paused for a couple of seconds as I was trying to save some money to go to Canada with my family for Eid. We normally go by air to Buffalo and then drive to Toronto. Just the travel itself costs us about $600. Now the question was: Should I postpone chanda, or give a portion of it, because I was already trying hard to save enough money to manage the Canada trip?

Anyway, I then decided to give this chanda thinking Allah will definitely help me in my other expenses. I said to Sharjeel Sb that I would pay this chanda at the collective Iftari that evening.
I felt very happy to give away that whole amount and prayed to Allah to accept it and help me to cope with my other plans. And so it happened that my family and I, for the first time, drove all the way to Canada. My Car was old and we were not sure if we could drive that far easily. However, Allah did make it possible and we had a great, blessed and, the best trip to Canada ever. Just before leaving for Canada, I received an email from Qaid sb that I needed to go to LA for QRC along with him in November.

I wondered why that was. But this, Qaid sb wrote at the end of his e-mail, he would explain later.

Once I was in Canada, I saw a dream that I was given a very bright white shirt. During the dream, I understood that this shirt was worn earlier by Muzammal Sb (my relative and a member of SVA Majlis). However, it was so bright and clean that it looked even better than a new one. I thought it was not a problem even if it was used by Muzammal Sb.   With that dream I had a feeling that some spiritual gift is going to be bestowed upon me. I began thinking that I have already been asked to go to LA, the location for the QRC this year, but for what good reason?

I might be given some responsibilities at the national level…No, why am I thinking like that, I should not think like that! Astaghfirullah!

Then a though entered my mind: During our National Ijtema, I had attended the Majlis-e-Shura and was part of a group to discuss marital problems. A team was assembled which was to continue working on and coming up with new ideas to tackle these issues throughout the year.  It may be that there is a committee meeting being held at the QRC and I’m called to attend.

A couple of days after Eid, I received a call from Qaid sb (Hiba tur Rafiq Sb). He told me of the upcoming split of the Capital Metro Region. He also disclosed that the Markaz was going to assign me the duties of a Qaid South Virginia. I was surprised but even more humbled. Meeting with Qaid Sb after a Jumma prayer, I asked him that there are many others who are much more deserving than I was, how did my selection come about? Qaid Sb had nominated my name upon the request of Sadr Khuddamul Ahmadiyya in respect with nominations for the Office of Qaid SVA. The decision was made and I had no option other than to pray to Allah to help me carry out these duties appropriately. I was humbled to hear from Qaid Sb that I was among the very few people who had paid their Chanda in full from the SVA Aamila. This played a big role in my nomination for qiadat and in being granted this favour of Allah Almighty upon me to serve the Jamaat!!! Falhamdulillah-e-Ala Zalik!!!

Also, from the bright shirt of Muzammal Sb, my attention diverted to the fact that according to Quran, The Holy Prophet of Islam, Muhammad Rasoolullah (saw) is also called Al-Muzammal. Then as I read some Ayats of Surah Muzammil, chapter 73 of the Holy Quran, I was really shaken. If one recites these Ayats, one can easily realize the message found therein! The message that I derived was how one cleanse the ‘Nafs’ (or Soul). I request you to pray for me and my Amila members that we may be able to serve in the best of manners and I implore all the members to cooperate with us so that we all could excel in both Worlds! Amin!
