Alm-e-Inami Criteria

2008 – 2009 Alm-e-Inami Criteria

The Alm-e-Inami award is given to that Majlis with outstanding performance in the given year.  Often the choice of “the best” remains quite a subjective matter.  So, in order to make the selection process more objective, MKA USA uses a more quantitative point-based approach to identify the best Majlis of a given year.  The selection process consists of following:

1.      Monthly Amila Meeting à one point is given for each month in which the Local Amila meeting was held for a maximum of 12 points.

2.      Monthly Khuddam Meeting (General Khuddam Meeting) à one point is given for each month in which the General meeting was held for a maximum of 12 points.

3.      Ontime Monthly Reports à Submitting monthly reports is a very important aspect of the MKA USA process, and those Majalis who are regular in submitting monthly reports are rewarded for it.  In the Alm-e-Inami awarding system, one point is given for each month in which they submit a report on time, for a maximum of 12 points.

4.      QRC Attendance à 5 points are given to each Majlis that has a representation at QRC.

5.      Shura Attendance à 10 points are given to each Majlis that has a representation at National MKA Shura.

6.      Financial à

a. Budget collection is very important for the day to day administration and activities of MKA and is highly stressed.  We cannot, however, reward a Majlis for collecting the most money, as that puts smaller Majalis at a disadvantage.  Therefore, in the Alm-e-Inami awarding system, one point is given for every 10% of the budget collected by the Majlis.  So, for example, if a Majlis collects 78% of their target, they are awarded 7.8 points.  For those Majalis that collect over 100% of their target, the maximum rewarded points will be 10.  If, for example, a Majlis collects 105% of their targeted budget, they will receive 10 points, and even if a Majlis collects 180% of their targeted budget, they are also given 10 points.

b. As important as the budget collection is the % age participation. Therefore, in the Alm-e-Inami awarding system, one point is given for every 10% of the members in a majlis who paid Chanda.  So, for example, if 78 members in a Majlis with 100 members paid Chanda, they are awarded 7.8 points (maximum of 10 points).

7.      Departmental Selections à The National Muhtamim for each department is asked to choose his top majlis for the year for each Majlis size category.  Each of those majalis will receive 8 points; majalis with medium activity in any department will receive 4 points for those departments; and the majalis with some activity in any department place will receive 2 points for those departments.  Each department will publish their scoring criteria in their yearly department plans.  Each Muhtamim will then notify the Alm-e-Inami Committee of their selections in the above categories (top majlis = 8 points, majalis with medium activity = 4 points, majalis with some activity = 2 points). There are over 15 departments.  So this allows for the possibility of many points to be earned based on this criteria.

In the end, all points are tabulated, and the Majlis with the highest number of points is given the Alm-e-Inami award for best Majlis of that year.  Awards will also be given to the top performing Majalis in each size category, which is based on the number of Khuddam in each Majlis’ tajneed.
