 May 19, 2008 - Flovilla, GA – The year 2008 carries a great significance to the Khuddam and Atfal of the Southeast Region. It is not only the first year they hold their own Regional Ijtema, but it is also a Khilafat year which laid out the theme of the Ijtema. On the course of two days, Atfal and Khuddam came together during the Khilafat Ijtema for a spiritual uplifting experience. By the grace of Allah, around seventy Khuddam and Atfal participated in the Sports, Talim Competitions, and other sessions. Participations came from Miami, RTP, Charlotte, Atlanta, Orlando, Tennessee and
Indiana to demonstrate the bond of brotherhood in the light of 100 years of Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya. Another special factor about the Ijtema is the fact that Sadr Khuddm-ul-Ahmadiyya, Dr. Faheem Younus Quershi Sahib was present among the participants which was dear to every Khadim and Tifl hearts there. Moreover, the Ijtema site was also the place for the annual regional Ijtema of Majlis Ansarullah, USA – Southeast Region. Sadr Ansarullah, Dr. Wajeeh Bajwa Sahib addressed Khuddam and Atfal at multiple occasions.
The Ijtema was officially started early morning on Saturday, May 17, 2008 with the Breakfast and Registration after the participants toured the beautiful site at the
Indian
Springs
State Park under the warm temperature in the 70’s. The first session started afterwards with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by MKA Pledge, MKA Tarana presented by Atlanta Khuddam, a welcome address by Atlanta Jama’at President, Hazeem Pudhiapura Sahib, a Program overview by Atlanta Qaid, Zulfiqar Khan Sahib and ending it with Silent Prayers. After that Khuddam started their Sports Competitions where Atfal preceded their Talim ones including the Atfal Trivia. The participants enjoyed a midday break where they had lunch and prayers.
After lunch,
Sadr MKA, USA held an excellent interactive session presenting a demo of MKA activities across the various initiatives and opened the door for any concerns and suggestions of how to make things better. Sadr Sahib also answered all of the interesting questions asked by the
Southeast Khuddam and Atfal. The session was concluded by presenting an appreciation award to Sadr Sahib for his important role in supporting the region in addition to a Khilafat Souvenir which commemorates the Southeast Khilafat Ijtema. Both gifts were presented by the Regional Qaid, Ahmad Antar Sahib.
The Ijtema day continued with the Talim Competitions on the Khuddam side and Sports on the Atfal side followed by the Sports finals for Khuddam. After having dinner and prayers, the last session started for all participants which included three parts. The first was the
Blood Drivetalk with Harris Raja Sahib, National Khidmat-e-Khalq Nazim. The second was the Sonat-o-Tijarat Career Awareness lecture by multiple speakers. And the third was the all-interactive Tarbiyyat Scenarios presented by Alauddin Ahmed Sahib and discussed by Jalal Malik Sahib and Harris Raja Sahib with the rest of Khuddam.
Sunday’s program started with the Tahajjud and Fajr prayers. Earlier in the morning, the participants have their breakfast before attending the Khilafat Trivia which consisted of 10 questions addressed at 4 different teams. Mashallah, Miami Majlis was able to pull a win after a competing closely with RTP team. The Ijtema was concluded with the closing session which started with recitation by Harris Raja Sahib and Nazm by the tifl Kamran Zahid before moving into prize distribution awarded to winners presented by Sadr Ansarullah Sahib and Regional Qaid Sahib. The concluding addresses were delivered by Sadr Ansarullah, Dr. Wajeeh Bajwa Sahib followed by Southeast Regional Qaid, Ahmad Antar Sahib demonstrating many thanks to the Ijtema organizers starting from Nazim-e-A’laa, Zulfiqar Khan Sahib and Naib Nazim-e-A’laa, Mudessar Ahmad Sahib to the rest of host Majlis, Atlanta Khuddam who presented a real Ahmadi spirit in terms of hospitality and efforts to make the Ijtema, a memorable outstanding Khilafat experience for every one of us.
