Connecticut
Asim Ahmad, son of Raza Ahmad Sahib, is a 15-year-old Tifl from North Haven, Connecticut. He is currently a sophomore at North Haven High School where he runs track and cross-country.  With the grace of God he is an excellent student who is interested in a variety of subjects, particularly world languages.  Asim is a highly motivated person and his ambition is to become a doctor in the future, Insha’Allah. For fun, Asim enjoys playing sports, playing video games, and reading books. Not surprisingly, he and his team won 3rd place in basketball and 2nd place in soccer at a recent Ijtema. Asim is very fond of sports video games such as Madden and the NBA Live series. He also takes pleasure in reading suspense thriller novels like those written by Dan Brown.  Currently, Asim spends most of his time reading SAT prep books.

Asim is a highly motivated young man. This past summer he worked at the medical research lab of Dr. Sohail Husain (former MKA Shining Star) at the Yale School of Medicine on a project focusing on pancreatic disease.  He is also involved in various Jama’at activities, currently serving as the local Atfal Secretary.  Furthermore, whenever a Khuddam activity is held or a new project is initiated in the Connecticut Majlis, Asim is among the first to volunteer his time. Asim also had the good fortune of leading Taravih prayers during Ramadhan.

Those who know Asim at a personal level are impressed with his dedication to serve the Jama’at and give priority to his faith over all other matters.  Masood Ashraf of the Connecticut Majlis said about Asim, “I can say with certainty that when Asim will join Majlis-Khudam-Ul-Ahmadiyya he will not only do his part in serving the Jama’at but he will also be among the leaders of MKA, Insha’Allah.”

Let us keep Asim and his success in our prayers.
