May 2011 Asjad Malik Los Angeles West Chapter
The Majlis Atfal-ul-Ahmadiyya Rising Star for the Month of May 2011 is Asjad Ali Malik of Los Angeles West Majlis.
Asjad is a 14-year old, Waqfe Nau boy in the eighth grade. Asjad is a rising star in many ways and his actions prove that. On New Year’s Day Asjad spent the early part of that day handing out ‘Muslims for Peace’ fliers at the Rose Parade in Southern California. Asjad , who was one of only a handful of dedicated Atfal to the accompany the Khuddam for the effort, gave out fliers with confidence and joy.
Asjad is a role model in his actions both at school and at the mosque. He has won achievement awards in math, social studies and citizenship. Moreover, he is an honor roll student. Asjad has also won many Atfal competitions, including recitation of Qur’an, memorization of Qur’an, speech and urdu poem. His hobies include basketball and swimming and going to the mosque regularly. Asjad hopes to pursue a career in computer engineering.
Manar Ahmad, Nazim Atfal of Los Angeles West, when asked about Asjad, said “Asjad is very nice team leader. He is at the mosque for all Jama’at events. When someone assigns Asjad with any kind of work or duty, he will do the work without saying a word. You will never hear a complaint from him. I am very proud of having Asjad as part of Los Angeles West.” May Allah continue to enable Asjad to rise and reach his goals, Insha’Allah. Ameen.
