July 2011 - Bilal Mian
Oshkosh

The ‘Rising Star’ for July is Bilal Mian from Oshkosh Majlis.  He is 11 years old and soon to start the sixth grade.  He is active both at school and in the Jama’at.  He is a good student and has aspirations of becoming a scientist, Inshallah.

His hobbies include reading, and playing sports (soccer, softball, basketball and table tennis).  He is also very active in Atfal ul Ahmadiyya.  Local Nazim Atfal, Harris Ahmad, comments  “I have been blessed to work with Bilal for over four years now.  He is a very quick learner and very ambitious to be an active part of Majlis Atfal ul Ahmadiyya.  Oshkosh is a very small Majlis, with only two Tifl, and Bilal is one of them.  But the passion and energy that he brings to every meeting and sports competition is very admirable.”  Mirza Harris Ahmad, Qaid of Oshkosh, states, “Bilal is a very active Tifl in our Majlis.  He is mature and respectful of his elders.  Bilal participates in all Jama’at functions.  Being born in the U.S. it is hard to find a Tifl who can read Urdu. Kudos to him for putting hard work in attaining this.”

When asked what advice he would give to others, Bilal mentions that Atfal should try to do good things to help others.  He is a true rising star who shines brightly for the Oshkosh Majlis and a great example for all Atfal.
