Daniyal Ahmad, June 2009Seattle Majlis This month’s Rising Star is Daniyal Ahmad, an active and well-known 14-year old Tifl from the Seattle Majlis. Daniyal is truly driven to be the best in everything he pursues, whether it be related to Jama’at activities, school or sports. Last summer, Daniyal joined many other Atfal across the nation at the 2008 Taleem-ul-Quran camp. Over the few days that he was there, Daniyal’s passion for memorizing the Holy Quran began. He then went on to gain 1st place in Tilawat (Recitation of the Holy Quran) at the 2009 Regional Seattle-Portalnd Ijtema. At this same Ijtema, Daniyal also excelled in many of the sports competitions. Daniyal is mature and has high potential for leadership. The president of the Seattle Jamaat has described Daniyal as having “a strong passion for serving the Jama’at”. In this past year, he had the distinct honor of leading Taraweeh prayers during Ramadhan for the entire Seattle Jama’at. He is a team player and is respectful towards everyone. He works hard to complete every task to the best of his ability. Daniyal is currently an 8th grader at Alderwood Middle School in Lynnwood, Washington. He will be starting high school next fall and is excited about this new change. Daniyal enjoys playing all types of sports, especially soccer, football and cricket. He also loves to read and play computer games. When Daniyal grows up he wants to become either a doctor or a fighter pilot. |
