September 2011 - Khaleel ZaeemOakland Majlis The Rising Star for the month of September 2011 is Khaleel Zaeem of Oakland Majlis. Khaleel is a 15 year old tifl, in the 10th grade whose ambitions drive him to reach his goals. Khaleel has been a member of the boy scouts, holds a green belt in karate, has won numerous school awards and also started his own school club. He also is a member of the Muslim association at his school. Khaleel is one of the top students receiving the highest grades and performing at a high academic level. He has won spelling bees and won first place at a science fair where he presented a 3-D model of his research. Khaleel is also very active in the Muslims for Life campaign which is relevant for this month of September, where nationwide blood drives are being held in memory of those lost on 9/11. Specifically, Khaleel has helped in the conferences calls to organize the blood drives. He is a dedicated member of Majlis Atfal-ul-Ahmadiyya whose work is geared to helping others. Khaleel plans to pursue a career as a graphics design artist and enjoys doing graphics art as a hobby. Local Nazim Atfal Taimur Shahid mentioned that Khaleel “is a sharp individual who is ready to help his peers and the Jamaat at all times.” When asked what advice he would give other tifls, Khaleel’s response was simple: “Dream Big.” His reply fits with the type of person he is, always looking forward and trying to succeed in all his endeavors. May Allah enable this tifl as he enters his years into Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya to be a dedicated member and may He help Khaleel reach all his dreams and aspirations. InshAllah. Ameen. |
