Hassan AhmadNorth Jersey This month’s Rising Star is eleven year-old Hassan Ahmad, son of NaeemAhmad of the North Jersey Jama’at. Hassan is currently in the sixthgrade at Thomas Jefferson Middle School, where he is involved with hisschool’s student council. Hassan enjoys going to his student council’smeetings and being engaged in finding ways to improve his localcommunity. Hassan also plays on the basketball team for the local Boysand Girls Club and also enjoys playing football. Hassan’s favorite subjects at school are history and social studies. Hassan particularly enjoys learning about ancient civilizations like Egypt. Hassan wishes to pursue a career in international business because he enjoys traveling and learning about the cultures of other countries. Hassan is Inshallah on track for a successful career--his high grades have put him on the 1st honor roll Alhumdolillah. Hassan is an active young member of the North Jersey Jama’at. He always looks forward to Juma where he devoutly listens to the Friday sermon. Hassan is an active participant in Jama’at activities and is a regular attendee of the general meetings and the weekly Nur class. Hassan is known for giving poetic recitations of Nazms during the general meetings. His favorite Nazm is “Wo Peshawar Humara” by the Promised Messiahas. During Nur class, Hassan is a leader in sports and actively participates in memorizing new chapters of the Holy Qur’an. Hassan’s characteristics are ones that we can and should develop in our own lives as well. The vivacity with which he carries himself is seen through all of the endeavors Hassan pursues.
