This month’s Rising Star is Sultan Munawar, son of Munir Munawar, from
Houston, Texas is this month’s Rising Star. Sultan is a 15 year-old
with big dreams as he plans to become an aerospace engineer. He is
already working hard to make this dream a reality by giving his best in
school and constantly studying. Sultan Munawar loves going to the mosque to pray namaz and help with any duties needed in the Jama’at. He is also very outgoing and has made many friends at the mosque, which further contributes to his love of coming to the masjid whenever he has a chance. He attends all the Tarbiyyat Camps and Regional Ijtemas but he especially enjoys going to the National Ijtema to interact with all the other Atfal and Khuddam. Sultan feels the National Ijtema is a time where all the brothers can unite. During this year’s National Ijtema, Sultan helped lead the Houston Atfal to a first place finish in basketball, but he didn’t stop there. Sultan also participated in the memorization of the Holy Qur’an and in Nazam, in which he took second place. Whether on the football field, reciting Nazams, or in math class, Sultan excels at anything he puts his mind to. Atfal should strive to be well rounded like Sultan and his advice is for them to “listen to their elders.” May Allah continue to allow Sultan success in school and enable him to reach his dream of becoming an aerospace engineer. We should all keep this aspiring Tifl in our prayers.
