Interviewing Workshop

On March 29^th the Sanat-O-Tijarat (Career Development) department of the East region hosted a small event during the Regional Ijtema. This even consisted of an interview workshop and a current affair jeopardy game. During the interview workshops various aspects to interviewing were discussed, such as the three major aspects to an interview: pre-interview, during the interview, and post-interview.

The overall theme was not specific to any field or job category, but interviewing in general whether it is for a job, school, or any other organization. Some of the themes  discussed were the importance of preparation prior to an interview. Many times people prepare for the interview by merely putting on nice clothes but fail to thoroughly research the organization, formulate questions to ask the interviewer, and familiarizing themselves with the position to be interviewed for. These pre-interview aspects as well as interview dos and don'ts as well as post interview follow up were discussed in detail. The seminar lasted about forty minutes.

Following the Interviewing skills workshop, a current events jeopardy game was held. The audience was broken down by Jamaat and there were four teams that  participated. The event lasted about 45 minutes, and the 50+ who attended said they thoroughly enjoyed it.
