The Capital Metro recently held their sleepover from 1/12/08 to 1/13/08. The purpose was to gather Khuddam and Atfal to join together for some time and perform congregational Tahajjud. Since the region consists of over 500 Khuddam and over 150 Atfal. There has always been a concern to have a variety of programs for their interest as they are joining together at Baitur Rehman from far distances.                        

This year the sleepover was special in the sense that it was a start of centenary year of Khilafat of Promised Messiah (as). Different ideas were gathered and the idea of Finance Class stood really popular. The selection was not a major difficulty as we have quite an experienced person taking that class.

Khan Sahib had really interesting things to share with us as his real life experiences. The highlights of the class were:

• The Economic system in United States measures every individual on the basis of their respective Credit Score. This is based on the spending ability and paying the money back to the lending institution.
• The system is set up to always scan through the Credit Score gathered by the three main Credit Maintenance companies. The bigger the credit score the easy it would be to obtain loans and pay installments for the bigger purchases like House, Car, Furniture, Computer etc.
• Never take a big purchase decision in hurry and avoid the large marketing glares put together by the sellers. It was specifically suggested to "Sleep on the decision," meaning think about it for some time and not rush the decision.
• Always try to use less than half of what you can spend through Credit Cards to ensure that your credit score increases fast. There has to be at least one transaction every three months.
• Special emphasis was made on the timely payment of bills. Delayed payments would always reflect bad impression on Credit Reports for any sort of financing.
• If anyone has a late payment, they should start writing letters to the credit companies. The letters should try to ask the late payments may please be taken away from the Credit Report. The regular reminders are normally considered if a person is regular in his payment of bills. There are companies who do this type of work (i.e. getting the late payments history out of the Credit Report).

Later on the questions from Khuddam were answered by Khan Sahib. The main idea was to provide Khuddam with a sort of guidance that helps them build a good financial base to prosper in their practical lives.
