Born as a Waqfe Nau child, Rizwan grew up in a family environment that radiated a love for the Promised Messiah (as) and his blessed Jamaat, and it shows through his actions and knowledge. He has excelled in both Islamic/Jamaat knowledge and academics, along the way being rewarded for his for his achievements. Rizwan achieved a hundred percent marks on his national Waqfe Nau exams, accompanied by several participation and honorary mention awards in other areas of competition. He placed first in the Waqfe Nau Regional competitions for Speech from 2005 to 2007. With in Majlis Khuddam ul Ahmadiyya, he placed first at the West Coast Ijtema for best Impromptu speech and third in the Tilawat competition at our Regional Ijtema in Tucson, Arizona. Most recently, Rizwan was able to place third in the nation amongst all Khuddam in the MKA Essay competition. This is quite the list for any Khadim, but extraordinary for someone who has just been a Khadim for just under two years. His scholastic achievements are just as impressive. He has maintained honor classes through high school as well as AP courses and was selected to intern at the City of hope National Medical Center Beckman Research Institute during the summer of his sophomore year. For this internship, over four hundred top ranked college/high school students apply; Rizwan was one of the fortunate that Allah has blessed to excel in scholastic achievement and experience. He has maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.95 (4.30 weighted) and is ranked eighth in his senior class of six hundred-twenty seven. Rizwan has achieved success at school and has been recognized for his outstanding despite being home schooled for over a year due to several leg surgeries. In a letter of recommendation from his guidance councilor, she states: Rizwan Jattala makes being an outstanding student look easy… During his years at [high school], he was enrolled in home schooling where he had to drop Honors and AP level classes to college prep due to limited offerings in the home schooling program…He showed me the need to be determined to continue to reach for those high standards that you are fighting to attain and to keep your goals in focus. Rizwan continues to shine in the region as our brightest star. He is humble in nature but inside is a driving force that pushes him to reach his full potential as a Khadim, student, and person. Easily approachable and willing to sacrifice his time and wealth for the cause of Ahmadiyya, by the Grace of Allah, Rizwan signed his Wasiyyat form in 2005 and is now a Moosi. Rizwan will be graduating this June from Alta Loma High School and will attend college next Fall, major in Biological Sciences with the aspirations of attending medical school. |
